D'banj, also known as Kokomaster or Bangalee, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and harmonica player born on June 9, 1980, in Zaria, Nigeria. He is one of the most successful and popular artists in the Nigerian music industry.

D'banj rose to fame in the early 2000s with his debut album "No Long Thing," which featured hit singles such as "Tongolo," "Socor," and "Mobolowowon." He became known for his unique sound, which combined traditional African music with hip-hop and R&B.

In 2005, D'banj released his second album, "Rundown/Funk You Up," which included the hit single "Why Me." The album was a commercial success and helped establish him as one of the leading artists in Nigerian music.
